May' Second Sunday

May’s Second Sunday

Some newly admitted members with babies in hand,

led in by husbands holding doors opened wide;

These often dressed as the working casual;

Glanced over at the “special” menus with pride.

Yes, the moms came in-all shapes and sizes,

taken out for their lunch by those who care;

Dressing higher for the event, by age or station.

Those on walkers had only grown children there.

The ladies were smiling and so many wore pink.

For some twas the Sabbath, for all Mid-May;

Scattering of balloons, tables with flowers;

hustling waiters wishing all, “Happy Mother’s Day!”
